My fiance and I both loved this movie when it was released and we tranquil do. When we heard it was coming out on Blu Ray and on top of that 3-D we were beyond exasperated. Well that excitment was crushed when we got home, save it on and were almost given instant headaches from the venerable school red and blue 3-d glasses and the fact that no matter how hard we tried to survey it, it unprejudiced was nowhere approach 3-d quality. We sat there contemplating whether or not it was objective us or if the 3-d aspect of it sucked that poor and we came to the conclusion that it was definately the latter. I went to eye this movie tonight with a mentally handicapped friend – “Michael” — (from a L’Arche home here in Winnipeg, Canada) . We were the first persons in the theatre for the very first evening showing in this city – and we were the last to leave. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves – enchanted by the movie’s subtleties and happily exhausted by its roller-coaster rides.

Time and again, Michael (who is sensitive, compassionate and with a salubrious sense of humor) turned to me in the darkness, smiling in appreciation at the genuine same moments I turned to ogle his reactions. Each time this happened, it was at a moment in the film when some diminutive detail, perfectly captured through wonderful ‘cinematography,’ brought moisture to my normally cynical watch, and a warm smile to Michael’s innocent face.

Some examples: There is a lone, shadowy child on this apparent ‘dream train’ to the North Pole – a girl of about ten or eleven years, and like a painting near to life, the miraculous technology at work in this film captures the particular sensibilities of this compassionate, dusky youngster — We discover runt mannerisms of someone comfortable with herself in a procedure the other (ten or so) white kids on the stammer are not. And the conclude is profound — the movie audience, including some children of that same age group, went peaceful at such moments in the film.

My friend Michael – who has a ‘savant’ genius for perceiving my emotions, and expressing them for me out loud in public — Michael turned to me with a contented smile when the girl on the affirm reaches out to enjoy the hands of the poorest boy, sitting alone in the rear compartment; and later, she hugs two other boys, (one of them the central character) — at their final parting. At that moment I held up a finger to my lips to try to hush Michael, but couldn’t prevent him from saying aloud: “She’s such a sweetheart.” There were murmurs of appreciation in the darkness around us, responding to this innocent sentiment.

There is a sublime moment, on the wait on platform of the arresting sing — the Northern Lights glimmering in the distance — when the young girl joins in song with the poorest kid on the disclose (a younger boy from a primitive home on the “far side of the tracks”) . I admit to being overcome with emotion during this duet (a radiant, strong melody with poignant lyrics) – and I blurted out loud to Michael, after the first chorus: “What a unbelievable song!” The refrain includes the words “When Christmas comes to town.” [It's a song so satisfactory that, with some future 'cover versions' by serious musicians who could do it justice --- this "Christmas Comes to Town" song could, I gain, deservedly join the minute list of legal, Christmas 'classics.']

I’d have to agree with anyone who thinks this movie is a shrimp short on status. And yet . . . once you’ve suspended disbelief — beginning with an earth-shattering, Christmas-eve arrival of a steam-puffing, passenger mutter on a small-town Michigan street, directly outside the home of the movie’s central character — once we’ve swallowed that premise, the movie disarmingly embraces the child in us, (including our fears) and our reservations vanish without our noticing.

Just as ample `realistic’ painters, (contemplate Rembrandt or Vermeer) worked wonders of light & shadow that no mere photograph could ever retract, so too this computer-animated marvel takes your breath away through an accumulation of miniature but acute observations that could never be captured by outmoded cinematography. Prime examples from the opening scenes:

A shaft of light illuminates the boy’s bedroom, and he is reflected in a chrome, automobile hubcap leaning against a wall; at once we piece his conception — through the keyhole of his bedroom door – we can perceive only the backs and the dressing gowns of mother and father, as they say goodnight to the boy’s young sister, after determining the spot of her conception in Santa’s existence – a thought no longer shared by the older brother, whose contemplate is at the keyhole.

Later, on the utter, there’s an shapely finish up of the boy’s face, a runt blemish above the pores on his upper factual cheek; the `camera’ pans in rotation, capturing perfectly, the texture of the boy’s hair, and that of the young gloomy girl sitting beside him — subtleties of such perfection one wonders if the current, artistic accomplishment of “Polar Bid” could ever be surpassed.

The film’s last scene, consists entirely of a close-up conception of a limited, silver bell (of the type associated with sleigh rides) with its attached ‘ribbon’ of red leather. The miniature bell helps develop the final point about `Belief’ — in things unseen, (or forgotten, and thus inaccessible to some adults) . So simple, so great, so enlightening an image. My friend Michael turned to me at that moment, with a lovely smile. And we impartial shook our heads in scare.

My guy and I honest started a netflix chronicle and found this movie quite by accident and without any previous knowledge of AirTv (the series) . The first thing that drew us into this movie was the art. It is typical anime in execute I scream, but the colors are honest outstanding. Neither of us had seen animation colored in such a intellectual, vibrant, involving contrivance. You have to observe it to understand I scream. And the scenes are edited together in a creative arrangement, occasionally broken apart by separate funny book like windows or tranquil images that peer as if they have been water colored.

Bottom line on presentation – This movie is Radiant!

We found the three main characters to be really inspiring and enchanting. I’m definite they all point to a few stereotypical anime qualities, but they really are their gain and very inviting. Occasionally Yukito, the hero, would act a runt.. odd. Throughout the movie he’s fine serious, still, but level-headed nice. But at times he bursts out into five second craziness which my guy and I weren’t positive about. It didn’t always seem to suit his so far developed character. The vow acting is solid, no character in the entire feature seemed to absorb a bid that didn’t suit them.

Overall I’d give the fictional cast a 5/5.

The tale.. It is really safe. Almost too short, but this is a movie, and, as others have stated, a highly condensed version of the series (which I have not seen) . Because of this it can find a small choppy at times. It is never hard to follow along with, never confusing. It tells itself well. I honest wish it would jabber itself more. The novel day chronicle parallels a mythical memoir from long ago. The mythical half really doesn’t score enough justice or air time and so the impact of those scenes varies from kind of caring about the characters from the past to unprejudiced wishing it would go attend to the fresh yarn. Also, approach the kill, some more fresh day characters are added but not really given any time for you to learn or care about them.

The legend and its presentation gets a 3/5 for going by too hasty!

Maybe it is because I have never seen the series, but this movie was, overall, a 5/5 for me. It is rare that I can win up an anime corpulent length feature and feel so fulfilled, so joyful. Most anime plump length features fair aren’t quality. They seem slapped together so haphazardly with terrible memoir development, terrible deliver acting, and some questionable animation. Air was none of these! Fair, sparkling, blooming.

Please, at least give this movie a rent! My one last suggestion: gape this with a friend. You’ll need a shoulder to shout on.

My daughter and I loved ArTV and decided we would have the collection. Air the Movie is a retelling of the series with a twist. We loved it! Fans of the series or newcomers to the record will appreciate the movie.

My husband and I rented the dual sided version of the film a couple days ago as well as bought two pairs of the dual color 3D glasses.

The film was absolutely lovely designed and spirited. It was also delightfully balanced between trippy and creepy. I’d definitely say that if parents have young children, they should preview the film prior to showing it and exercise their personal judgment. The epic has the same threads of menace that haunts unique Brother’s Grimm tales. The film at times can be rather disturbing. My husband and I humorously traded off with the line, “That is messed up!” several times through out the film. My only critique with the film is that the resolution falls too speedy and maybe too neatly into site.

The reason my review is three stars is that I fail to stare the reason gradual packaging the DVD with a 3D version of the film. Even on a HD plasma with unimpaired vision, the dual colored glasses honest did not work for me at all. I knew going in that the home television would lose the extraordinary achieve of what dual projection in a theater could accomplish, so I didn’t have high expectations. I was merely gripping if the industry had gotten better at implementing it over time.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Coraline! Click Here

I went in to watching the 3D version expecting to at least secure a sense of scene depth similar to an frail school View-Master. Unfortunately, I didn’t even earn that. None of the 3D effects worked for me. Even with a darkened room, my eyes would water while they constantly fought to refocus and execute sense of the dual colors. I had to discontinuance watching after about twenty minutes in, because my eyes were unbiased exhausted. The 3D versions also dulls the color plan. This really doesn’t do the unusual film justice at all. It was rather homely to view the lustrous color inequity switching from 3D to the 2D version.

In Conclusion: Skip the 3D gimmick and luxuriate in the 2D version.

This exclusive animation starts with tween-aged angst, the kind that demands independence but mild wants mom and dad halt by. Her busy parents don’t have considerable time for her, though, and her fresh, remote home doesn’t offer distinguished reward for her explorations (other than some rather kooky neighbors) . So, even if it’s not wholly conscious, Coraline wishes for a nicer plot and parents that pay more attention.

As the movie’s tagline says, “be careful what you wish for.” Like Alice down the rabbit hole, Coraline finds a secret passage to a more magical spot. Soon, however, the magic turns shaded. That’s where the colorful animation really comes into its beget. The conclude animation (or at least the search for of it) bring to mind Tim Burton with a macabre touch of Brothers Quay. You know your child best – haunted ones might accept some of the imagery a bit worthy. Calm, kids’ stories (like Alice in Wonderland) have always had unlit edges. That deliciously spooky sense, plus some stout animation, really situation this movie apart from the usual.

Took my nephew to see it and he loved it. I thought it was hilarious as well. Why can’t some of you people just enjoy the movie for its entertainment? Is there a need to pick everything apart? Wahhh waahhh just another sequel to make more money. Ok? Who cares. I thought the dinosaurs were extinct in the first one. Again who cares!! Enjoy the freakin movie!

This movie is still cute and fun even with the third installment. My husband and I saw it in 3D at the theater just for fun and also to screen it before taking our grandkids. We think it is the kind of movie you can enjoy with your children at the theater. We will buy the DVD because we know our grandkids will want to watch it over and over again like the previous two movies. The 3D is interesting but not necessarily worth the extra cost. Just have fun and enjoy it like a child does. Yes, Scrat and his acorn stole the show again.

I have to disagree with reviewers who try to “see” too many things in a movie made mainly for (young) kids. This movie made my child and me laugh many, many times. In fact I think it is even funnier than Ice Age 1+2. It is just “clean” family fun. In this age of over-hyped animation from Walt Disney and Pixar, how refreshing to watch something without too many pretensions and not too much relation to today’s world. Let the kids be kids, please.

Very gay with this state. In an age where you can quite easily pay $20 for a unique, single-disc release of most movies, which approach with no insert other than a one-sheet “Purchase more DVDs from this company”…it’s refreshing to pay less than $20 for two well-made discs and a very nice, informative booklet. As a fan of Hertzfeldt, Plympton and Assume, I bought this on the strength of them, but am finding a lot more that I like on here as well. Can’t wait to salvage the road prove when it comes to the my position.

Word of warning, most people who reach to this page will already know but, some of these cartoons are rather odd. Unprejudiced be forewarned, if you try to save this on in mixed company, or for people who aren’t really into animation other than Family Guy and The Simpsons, I doubt they will hasten screaming – but they’re probably going to give you some peculiar looks. That’s one of the reasons I adore them – but, it might not be a lot of people’s cup of tea.

And like JONG said, for 67 cents a short, you really can’t beat giving it a shot.

Somehow or another my local Target store was selling copies of this dvd about 10 days before it is supposed to be released. So….lucky me. For animation fans of whatever variety, this is a ample exiguous collection. “Mike Contemplate and Don Hertzfeldt have scoured the globe to bring you thirty incredible enchanting films”, and how! This collection includes a smorgasboard of animation, including ragged animation, rotoscoping, clay animation, stop-motion, 3d animation, experimental, and probably more than a few hybrids. If you are a fan of “Beavis and Butt-head” (or unbiased a fan of Mike Deem in general), this collection contains several early animations and experimentations, somewhat revealing the evolution of the style slack “B & B”. Although, it may be said that you can probably conception the majority (if not all) of these animations on-line, there is something invaluable about having them all in your hand contained within an attractively designed box dwelling, which also contains an informative booklet profiling the artists gradual the contained animations. All for under $20 (which comes out to about 67 cents per animation) . Not too shabby.

After reading the Unique York Times article about the restoration process for Yellow Submarine, I had high hopes for this DVD. I was not disappointed.

The color saturation is sumptuous. There are some imperfections, but on the whole this is a first class restoration. If you want luxuriate in the restoration, examine at the current theatrical trailer or the “making of” documentary extras.

The re-mastered audio brings unique complexity and detail to familiar Beatle material (even on my strictly middlebrow home entertainment system) . The opening a cappella chorus of “Nowhere Man” sounded like it was recorded yesterday.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Yellow Submarine! Click Here

For a generation that has not seen this film, Yellow Submarine is a perfect time capsule for 60′s psychedelic era. The film begins in under the sea in Pepperland, an idyllic musical community, which is attacked by the music-hating Blue Meanies. “Young Fred” manages to hasten the attack in the Yellow Submarine, which takes him to England. He recruits the Beatles to return with him to Pepperland to join the battle between the forces of order (the Blue Meanies) and the forces of creativity and treasure. The dwelling is glorious grand as hokey as it sounds, but it is merely a vehicle for the music, humor, surrealism, artistic and social sensibilities of the psychedelic 60′s. And it is there that the movie emphatically succeeds.

The animation is certainly not as sophisticated as some more new efforts, but it stands up remarkably well. There was a lot of revolutionary (for the 60′s) integration of animation and live action. The colors are magnificent. Visually, this is level-headed a very challenging film.

If you don’t like the Beatles music, or are bored by animation, quit away. If you are on the fence about getting this DVD, retract it. You won’t be disappointed. And if you esteem the Beatles, this DVD should proceed to the top of your list.

You’re browsing the video rental racks, and there it is: a blue background with yellow lettering and a trippy submarine (yellow at that) on the screen. The movie? THE BEATLES: YELLOW SUBMARINE.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Yellow Submarine! Click Here

Having only seen this movie (well, and MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR, which you probably haven’t seen, and there’s a reason for that….) of The Beatles I cannot compare it to the other 3 (HARD DAY’S NIGHT, Support!, and LET IT BE) . So I can only operate in this sphere of knowledge.

YELLOW SUBMARINE, simply attach, is one unfamiliar movie. They occupy elements of The Beatles mythology and throw it all together and kill up with a set called Pepperland which, for some unfamiliar reason (I don’t deem the film says why, though I may be unsuitable) is being invaded by Blue Meanies. Oh yes…… The Blue Meanies want to do everything blue. It has the very hippy or 1960s message of cherish and music will put the day, which is what happens. Through the procedure we win several visually dynamic (and altogether unusual) music video segments. The Beatles were ahead of their times, let me exclaim you. I AM THE WALRUS is one of the first music videos.

Anyway, its campy fun, though when watching the film it seems a lot longer than it actually is. The animation portrays a convoluted world, tubby of fresh beings found only in a drug-induced cosmos. Throw that in with the fact its mainly about The Beatles, and we have a very trippy and fun movie. Jeremy is the most memorable character.

And no, The Beatles do not play themselves. In that respect, this isn’t really a Beatles movie at all, its fair a film produced by their company about them, and they did a limited afterword (you recognize them for like a limited or 2) . It also set aside in the excised “Hey Bulldog” sequence from the American version. They advertised that there was a lost Beatles song that would be included with the original release of Yellow Submarine. It wasn’t a song at all, unbiased the lost footage. Liars. No, I’m not bitter at all!

It’s not everyday you encounter a horror/ science fiction anime property station in Germany with blood laden conceal art and a German title that translates to “Pale Rider” in English. I fair finished FUNimation’s forthcoming release of Blassreiter The Complete Series Share 1 and came away quite surprised with the sheer “coolness” of the show’s concepts and melding of several well-established genres.

Released across two discs, Blassreiter The Complete Series Share 1 comes packaged in a pair of thin packs within an outer cardboard slipcase and consists of episodes 1-12. The display comes in at a total runtime of 288 minutes and wears an appropriate TV MA (archaic, 17+) rating due to violence and gore.

Language options are standard sub & dub with both an English dub and fresh Japanese soundtrack (either in Dolby 5.1 Digital Surround) & the choice of English subtitled if so inclined to turn them on.

Extras include a commentary by the English cast over Episode 12, Japanese promotional videos (with English subtitles), textless opening and closing songs, and a host of unique Funimation trailers on the second disc.

The legend goes something like this: In a fictional German city, an apparent outbreak of biomechanical creatures named “Demoniacs” rises from human corpses with an appetite for violence and destruction. Unlike your typical zombies however, the Demoniacs expose the ability to merge with nearly any technology (which often includes cars, busses, bikes and so on), which not only gives them control of said machine but also enhances their hold abilities. In a very genuine sense it’s zombies meets Transformers with a bit of Inflamed Max thrown in for genuine measure.

Don’t difficulty though, humanity isn’t about to let the world tumble to the grips of the biomechanical monsters and the viewer is carried along with the exploits of the opposition: XAT, Xenogenesis Assault Team, who polices the Demoniacs in misfortune to preserve the peace as well as investigate the potential causes for the blood-borne phenomenon.

Now don’t go and earn too attached to the XAT though as this is really a narrative of a lone rider charged with the daunting task of saving civilization. This rider, a fellow by the name of Joseph Jobson, rides into town a blend of flesh and motorcycle like some outlaw straight out of a spaghetti western with plans to hack, lop, and slaughter the Demoniacs running amok.

The pick up is that Jobson’s occupy blood is nasty with the very same plague he’s out to keep in check which means that it is a constant struggle to subdue the very thing he means to conquer.

The present is an spellbinding blend of ideas and plays out perhaps closest to the hopelessness of Blue Gender coupled to the element of self-control made famed in Claymore. There is a constant threat of the lead character’s lapse in perseverance resulting in his irreversible topple into madness- in this case a fate worse than death.

The pacing is fairly brisk with a bit of “uncouth” sports participation (in the obtain of cycle racing) and religious undertones on a big scale. The line between favorable and foul is a fairly clearly established establish for the “Pale Rider” himself, who, like many tremendous laughable mythos, borders on being an anti-hero.

The visuals are tight (as almost always is the case with Gonzo’s pieces) with a bit of a heavy leaning upon CGI titillating sequences over the slightly less flashy cell segments. Many of the backgrounds are downright spectacular with emphasis on mood and lighting effects. Character animation is fluid and consistent as well. The overload of 3-D attain segments aside, there is distinguished to win exasperated about in terms of the show’s contemplate and style are concerned.

Consisting of a total of 24 episodes, this collection represents the first half of the chronicle and has got this reviewer anticipating the release of the second (and final) half of the collection.

Blassreiter is a really vivid series, probably worthy better than you will be expecting. Exploring all aspects of morality, Blassreiter blends deep emotional scenes with sharply choreographed fighting and car chasing sequences. Do not be fooled by the frankly slow first episode, this series hits its promenade from episode 2 and never lets up. All the characters are spicy and well developed, i can’t recommend this series enough.

I cannot, however, say the quality of the series makes it worth paying nearly $50 for the first half only. Even at Amazon’s discounted notice, this means paying nearly $100 for the whole thing! Especially in a recession, prices for entertainment mediums like dvd need to be competitive. Let’s face it, we all know that people download anime for free. I always back a explain i like by buying the DVDs, but with money for most people the tightest it has ever been, i impartial cannot explain paying this kind of tag on a non-essential.

The other thing to mediate is that it comes on DVD. Certainly DVD has a few years left in it yet, but there’s no getting around it’s a dying format now Bluray is here. If Blassreiter was on the current-gen format i might feel better about shelling out $100 for a 24-episode series, but alas, it is not. Wait till the brand goes down and retract this up, it’s a fabulous demonstrate, though sadly at the moment it is objective not a cost-effective seize.

Another mainstay of 80′s children’s cartoons I bought this DVD is my attempts to “recapture my childhood” and I AIN’T disappointed!!! The movie itself was okay but the DVD extras are what execute this a “must-keep” for me. For the uninitiated, here’s a rundown:

Plot synopses: GI Joe (America’s top military force) battles against Cobra (dismal terrorist organization trying to engage over the world) . It this particular movie, the Joes try to finish Cobra from devolving the world through these organic spores. In this movie the right veteran origins of Cobra(la) are FINALLY revealed.

The movie marked a landmark in GI Joe storylines. (Personally, I plan it was sorta the beginning of the kill…) Most the old-time well-liked Joes and Cobras appeared. Many unique characters also made their debut (Lt. Falcon, the Renegades, Nemesis Enforcer, etc) . However, the movie itself, in my belief is NOT the best feature of this DVD. The unfamiliar DVD features are!!!

Exclusive DVD features: TWENTY-FIVE (25) Novel G.I. JOE PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS (you know, those “vivid is half the battle” things they aired at the demolish of each episode for the kids!!!) Two (2) movie trailers. Two (2) vintage action figure commercials (too waaay assist even for me. Can’t hold how cheesy those attend in the day commercials were) . A shameless accelerate for VHS tapes of G.I. Joe and Transformer cartoons.

The DVD extras truly form this a “Collector’s edition.” DEFINITELY a part of 80′s nostalgia. Those PSA’s RULED!!!

Here’s my rundown:

GREAT: The DVD features especially those PSA’s. “Sparkling is half the battle!!!”

Good: The action, soundtrack and animation. They positive don’t accomplish kids cartoons like this anymore!!!!

So-so: The movie trailers.

Bad: Those cheesy vintage action figure commercials. The shameless trudge.

DEFINITELY a collector’s item for any G.I. Joe or 80′s cartoon fan. Recommended viewing for anyone who never grew up watching these but who are indeed fans of obliging animation.

Highly recommended.

As furious as I am to peer _any_ portion of the legendary G.I. JOE series on DVD, I can’t relieve but wish that the new and best JOE movie (the one about the MASS Method) had been chosen for the honor before this one. Although this particular film (which ran at or come the waste of the TV series) is beautifully fascinating and action-packed, its station is fantastically far-fetched, and plan too grand time is spent introducing – and then featuring – nearly a dozen recent JOEs. Consequently, veteran favorites like Flint, Scarlet, Snake Eyes, and Lady Jaye (unbiased to name a few) are given dinky or no hide time. I also hate the map the script treats my approved cartoon villain, Cobra Commander. Here we learn the reason the Commander wears a conceal, but then he’s dismissed as a useless buffoon. Nevertheless, this disc is a must-buy for any fan of the sizable toons of the mid 1980s. The characterize and sound quality are mammoth (though all those flashing explosions may give you a headache), and the special features include no less than 25 of those unforgettable public service announcements that outmoded to finish every G.I. JOE episode. You’ll also salvage two vintage toy commercials, and two trailers – which, ironically, pertain to the aforementioned MASS Map movie. I applaud Rhino for this DVD release, and remain hopeful that many more are on the diagram. YO JOE!
